The repair process always begins with a thorough diagnostic of your vehicle. We will talk to you to be sure we understand the nature of the issue that brought you to us in the first place. Then, we will begin evaluating your vehicle. (Click HERE for details of the initial diagnostic and what's involved). Once that is complete, we can make a service recommendation based on the facts of those findings. Our Diagnostics are very thorough and complete, which is why they take so long to perform. It is still FREE.

Normally, the service recommendation will have four different types of results:

1. No problem found. This means we couldn't find anything that required a repair.
   
   
2. Non-transmission related problem found. This means we found a problem, but it's not transmission related. Usually we will refer you to another shop for repairs. We have great relationships with many other shops in the area that offer excellent service. You're under no obligation to use them, but we will help you if you want.
   
   
3. Minor transmission problem found. This means we found a problem, and we can give you a quote to repair it. You are under no obligation to repair the vehicle with us.
   
   
4. Major transmission problem found. this means we found an internal problem with your transmission, which normally requires a rebuild. See the steps below for a major repair.
   
   

At this point, we have determined that your transmission requires internal service to repair. Since no-one cannot see inside the transmission to determine the full extent of the damage, we need to disassemble your transmission to give you a quote. However, we can and will provide a range estimate, written if requested. This range estimate will show you the lowest and the highest cost your transmission could cost for repair. The upper limit is just that--a maximum. Our policy is that this number cannot be exceeded, no matter what we find inside your transmission. The upper limit is almost never hit. Normally the final cost is somewhere between the low and the high.

Once we get your authorization for labor to remove, disassemble, and inspect your transmission, we can give you a firm quote, and we will go through everything with you. Then we get your authorization to complete the repairs. As the repairs proceed, if we find something else inside your transmission that requires replacement, that replacement is provided at no additional charge. The firm quote was firm, and we will stand by that quote. We will email pictures of the damaged parts if you wish. We welcome you to visit us at any time during the process, and it is not necessary to inform that you are coming (we like surprise visits!). At our shop, and educated customer knows and understands the value we present and how we are different from everyone else.

After the repairs are complete, your vehicle will be put through an extensive quality control check. During these checks, your vehicle will be driven twice, by different technicians, so ensure that it is performing properly and that the initial problem was corrected.

You will receive updates throughout the repair process, so that you will always know the repair status of your vehicle.
